How it all started.

Fred Lubega

Fred Lubega – founder of Liz Junior School, Namagoma – is not a stranger to the hardships that students of all ages face in Uganda.

He was raised in Masaka by his grandmother; the late Elizabeth Nasamba – after whom he named the school – who helped him through school until his sister, Josephine, could do so.

It was Josephine who encouraged Fred to dream about starting a school, and as Fred phrases it, “The more you think about something, the more your desire for it grows.” After working abroad, it became a possibility.

In 2015, Liz School was established. It currently educates 136 students, while supporting the surrounding community through different initiatives.

Fred continues to work today to fund the school, and now you can be a part of this journey too.
